idlyvadai and FARTOLOGY

Blogger(s) idlyvadai inTamil, has done a unique analysis on FARTOLOGY!

Very interesting post! Guaranteed Gas! No offense!

CONFARTULATIONS... OOPS.. CONGRATULATIONS!

HOW: Did I get to know about them? No idea, just stumbled through a friends blog, as it was hot in cut and paste!

WHO: does it? No idea! Someone with no work to do, or who had made tons of money, and now idling to want to become Mr.Methane! (but figured out becoming idlyvadai is easy, being a Tambrahm! - SYNONYMOUS)

SCOOP: the guy who writes as luckylook, should be the one who is idlyvadai, who is a graphic artist with some Tamil magazine. Just kidding! (But seriously, he works well with Adobe, illegal version!)

Kosuru: http://www.mrmethane.com/          (saw on one video, that this is only a humor act, with ventriloquism!)

Just Far. err.. Kidding!

Grady Booch and OOAD

Grady Booch the propoganist of Object Oriented Methodology in Computer programming, said - Objects are like clouds, each one does not know what others do, but only know how to communicate with each other.

Chandrayan - I launched by India

This is a proud moment for India, that Chandrayan - I is launched.

Great! Kudos to the entire team on the work!

Raj Thackeray and MNS

There is a mistake on part of Raj Thackeray and MNS. They should approach democratically!

Raj Thackeray runs MNS - Maharastra Navanirman Sena

India wins 2nd Test against Australia

The margin of 320 runs is India's biggest victory in Test cricket (not counting innings victories)!

That was a great and wonderful performance.

Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra were the architects in terms of bowlers.

Sehwag, Gambhir and Ganguly got India the runs that were needed.

Should not forget Dravid and Tendulkar.

Overall team effort!

And good Captains knock and innings by MS Dhoni! (gets MOM, but I feel Amit Mishra was the right choice for his match figures of 7 for 106)

I did not win, does not matter!

But appreciate the willingness myself to take pains to write and participate!

Congrats to the winners and the painstaking process taken by JeyaMohan to evaluate!

His descriptions sound totally different!

I wrote 2 stories, which got me some more readers, who visit regularly!

Thanks...

More than 500 visitors for above 2 stories, based on the hitcounter. Does it mean anything?

Also one of my stories,

Sangalph - Its for togetherness, a Short Story

had more hits to date for one of my individual blogposts! Few cinema guys were interested in it, and not sure about monetizing that! Isn't this a success?

Is blogging just an Ego Trip?

Sure! Blogging just an Ego Trip!

It improved one's language skills, from being Great to Good!

Just because, one site has hits or has appreciation from a certain set of circles, I would not call it a success!

Look at Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan and her blog The Compulsive Confessor, tell me on what topic she writes?

Personally for me, all my friends are looking at my writing. That is the stamp of approval.

It is a place to vent out feelings!

Thanks for reading and really appreciate it!

Boring Life

Sunday has begun as a boring day. Boring Life!

What to do for the day?

Plan to buy some books.

Back to Non Veg days, after Tamil month Purataasi, where not even egg is consumed (other than the cake).

The life goes on!

My friend writes from US, that he wants to move to Detroit, where a 2 bedroom apartment costs only $ 10,000/-. Joking?

Sachin is Test Cricket's Highest Run getter now!

Sachin hits the record that was pending for 3.5 years, held by Brian Lara. (Adelaide, 2005 vs Aus)

So today October 17th 2008, is a date to remember for Indians and Sachin.  Earlier Sunil Gavaskar has done it before retiring, which stood for few years and then that was broken by Allan Border and held on for few years, before Lara broke it.

Ponting is next in line, who can do it!

Records are meant to be broken!

Here is a link to see the video...

*****

Some records that are pending for today!

Saurav Ganguly's 7000 runs in his 111th Test match! If you notice one thing, he has the maximum number of fours and sixes hit among the fab four in similar number of tests! Dada doesn't like to run, saw even today, just before tea!

Also

Sachin's 12000 runs in his 152nd Match! (and may be his 40th Hundred/Century)

Dal Fryday

Dal Fryday at Arakere is an obscenely pricy place.

I dont know why they charge so much.

I have been there only once.

Not worth visiting.

What am I going to do for Diwali!

No plans for Diwali this year!

Very busy with the venture capitalists and presentations.

Last year no Diwali, as my father expired.

Was at terrace watching the crackers burst.

Neighbors let us alone, did not come to offer us sweets etc.

This year the mood is not there, stock market, world crisis.

Expenses are to be cut, like corporates, cutting down on gifts.

Should fly down to Sikkim or somewhere and take a break... or plan for South, if kids want.

Advance Diwali greetings!

Sickness, Stomach and Worries

Holidays are meant for good food.

Food and family.

Life goes on.

At times even great food brings sickness.

Upset Stomach and worries.

We need not bother about anything.

And life goes around a cycle.

Writing Styles

An authors passion should be like the calendar. Should provide the day to day information in a narrative style, bringing in emotions, actions and feelings.

Novel is the form of telling a plot, with a story or multiple stories.

I like the twist form of short stories, with a small anti-climax in the end. The readers imagination should be at play.

Since I am adept in Tamil, and English, I command a very good focus on what is needed for the author and read accordingly.

You would be surprised to know that some of my works have been internalized by many English authors in USA, when I tried to publish. Irony.

So you might see me writing sparingly. I used blog as a medium of snippets. Gotcha!

Writing is a gift, please don't misuse it.

I would say, I am a proud fan of his ODI capabilities and gritty captain. He was the one, who kept Kumble, Laxman out....even while in form.

Richard Branson: Management Utterances

Management gems from Richard Branson

'Business opportunities are like buses'

# A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts.
# Business is giving people in their lifetime what they need and what they want. And you know, I've had great fun turning quite a lot of different industries on their head and making sure those industries will never be the same again, because Virgin went in and took them on. Occasionally we'll come unstuck and you know, we'll learn from our mistakes but so far I think we've managed to get it right more often than we've got it wrong.
# Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming.
# I believe in benevolent dictatorship, provided I am the dictator.

'I never get the accountants in before I start up a business'

# I never get the accountants in before I start up a business. It's done on gut feeling, especially if I can see that they are taking the mickey out of the consumer.
# I love the freedom of movement that my phone gives me. That has definitely transformed my life
# Ridiculous yachts and private planes and big limousines won't make people enjoy life more, and it sends out terrible messages to the people who work for them. It would be so much better if that money was spent in Africa - and it's about getting a balance.
# The music industry is a strange combination of having real and intangible assets: pop bands are brand names in themselves, and at a given stage in their careers their name alone can practically guarantee hit records.

'Quickest way to be a millionaire? Borrow fivers off everyone you meet'

# With the casino and the beds, our passengers will have at least two ways to get lucky on one of our flights.
# If you are trying to do something for the first time, it's always an enormous challenge, and there is no guarantee of success.

You never know with these things when you're trying something new what can happen. This is all experimental.
# What's the quickest way to become a millionaire? Borrow fivers off everyone you meet.
# Fortunately we're not a public company - we're a private group of companies, and I can do what I want.

'You can't be a good leader unless you like people'

# We've got an engaging, edgy, vibrant, fun product. . . It may or may not work, but we're going to give it our best shot.
# Well, I'm somebody who is just living. . . living life, and if I get frustrated by something, then I like to try to put it right.
# Having a personality of caring about people is important. You can't be a good leader unless you generally like people. That is how you bring out the best in them.
# We look for opportunities where we can offer something better, fresher, and more valuable, and we seize them. We often move into areas where the customer has traditionally received a poor deal, and where the competition is complacent. And with our growing e-commerce activities, we also look to deliver 'old' products in new ways. We are pro-active and quick to act, often leaving bigger and more cumbersome organisations in our wake. When we start a new venture, we base it on hard research and analysis. Typically, we review the industry and put ourselves in the customer's shoes to see what could make it better.

'I wanted to be an editor or a journalist'

# If I was a businessman, or saw myself as a businessman, I would have never gone into the airline business.
# I wanted to be an editor or a journalist, I wasn't really interested in being an entrepreneur, but I soon found I had to become an entrepreneur in order to keep my magazine going.
# My mother was determined to make us independent. When I was four years old, she stopped the car a few miles from our

house and made me find my own way home across the fields. I got hopelessly lost.
# Records are made to be broken. It is in man's nature to continue to strive to do just that.

There's no model to follow, nothing to copy'

# Above all, you want to create something you are proud of. . . . That has always been my philosophy of business. I can honestly say that I have never gone into any business purely to make money. If that is the sole motive, then I believe you are better off doing nothing.
# We'd love to be involved with the creation of something very special, something quite large and something quite exciting.
# We're going where no one has gone before. There's no model to follow, nothing to copy. That is what makes this so exciting.
# Peter Gabriel -- a Virgin artist for 20 years -- is still pre-eminent in the business. Whether the new artists will do the same is more questionable.

'All you have in life is your reputation'

# I'm inquisitive. . . and I love a new challenge. . . and if I feel that we can do it better than it's been done by other people, we'll have a go. Some people call that 'brand stretching' and say that this is not the way business should be done, and in the Western world generally it's not the way business is done. And I think to be perfectly frank the reason it's not done that way is that most big companies are public. . .
# All you have in life is your reputation: you may be very rich, but if you lose your good name, then you'll never be happy. The thought will always lurk at the back of your mind that people don't trust you. I had never really focused on what a good name meant before, but that night in prison made me understand.
# My interest in life comes from setting myself huge, apparently unachievable, challenges and trying to rise above them.
# To be successful, you have to be out there, you have to hit the ground running, and if you have a good team around you and more than a fair share of luck, you might make something happen. But you certainly can't guarantee it just by following someone else's formula.

'I don't think of work as work'

# I don't think of work as work and play as play. It's all living.
# I've had to create companies that I believe in 100%. These are companies I feel will make a genuine difference. Then I have to be willing to find the time myself to talk about them, promote them and market them. I don't want to spend my life doing something that I'm not proud of.
# As much as you need a strong personality to build a business from scratch, you also must understand the art of delegation. I have to be good at helping people run the individual businesses, and I have to be willing to step back. The company must be set up so it can continue without me.
# If you're good with people and you really care, genuinely care about people then I'm sure we could find a job for you at Virgin.

'I overcome my difficulties by concentrating'

# Our model is to develop each business separately with its own shareholder and management -- this way we can concentrate on the job in hand, rather than be part of some enormous and faceless conglomerate.
# Although my spelling is still sometimes poor, I have managed to overcome the worst of my difficulties through training myself to concentrate.
# Some 80% of your life is spent working. You want to have fun at home; why shouldn't you have fun at work?
# If a chairman of a company visits Seattle, that chairman should take all the staff out in the evening and have a few drinks together, talk together and party together and not be embarrassed about the staff seeing the weaker side of you.

'I don't think I'll ever retire'

# Because I don't see Virgin as a company but as a way of life, I fully enjoy it. I don't think I'll ever retire.
# If you get your face and your name out there enough, people will start to recognise you.
# Many people know the Virgin brand better than the names of the individual companies within the group.
# I have always believed that marketing starts with the product, not what you say about it. If you develop an excellent product with value that is right for your customers, then marketing it should not be difficult.

'If you don't take risks you won't achieve anything'

# We promise value for money, and we try to do things in an innovative way, in areas where consumers are often ripped off, or not getting the most for their money. I believe we should do what we do with a sense of fun and without taking ourselves too seriously, too! If Virgin stands for anything, it should be for not being afraid to try out new ideas in new areas.
# If you don't take risks you won't achieve anything.
# I have no secret. There are no rules to follow in business. I just work hard and, as I always have done, believe I can do it. Most of all, though, I try to have fun.
# Wine, like life, is meant to be enjoyed.

'I just love life'

# Three months of running a business or trying to set up a business and you will learn, I suspect, as much as you can learn in three years at a business school.
# The companies that look after their people are the companies that do really well. I'm sure we'd like a few other attributes, but that would be the most important one.
# Clearly in the eyes of the consumer the brand has not been diluted, but we must guard against that happening at all costs.
# I just love life. I mean, you know, I love every second of it. I love people.

'My biggest motivation? Just to keep challenging myself'

# Everyone needs something to aim for. You can call it a challenge, or you can call it a goal. It is what makes us human. It was challenges that took us from being cavemen to reaching for the stars.
# A lot of chairmen of a lot of companies are terrified of the press. Our attitude is if CNN wants an interview you never say no, you always say yes, because we want to become the most respected brand in the world and we have to get out there and talk about what we are doing.
# My biggest motivation? Just to keep challenging myself. I see life almost like one long University education that I never had -- every day I'm learning something new.
# Fantasizing about the future is one of my favourite pastimes.

'A company is people'

# I have enjoyed life a lot more by saying yes than by saying no.
# When I graduated from Stowe, a big public school, my headmaster's parting words to me were: "Congrats, Branson. I predict you will either go to prison or become a millionaire."
# I have always lived my life by thriving on opportunity and adventure. Some of the best ideas come out of the blue, and you have to keep an open mind to see their virtue.
# A company is people. . . employees want to know. . . am I being listened to or am I a cog in the wheel? People really need to feel wanted.

'Branding is everything'

# Branding is everything. A young girl once came up to me and told me I could be famous because I looked just like Richard Branson!
# Back then we would create a company based on frustration at other people's service and suddenly realised we had one of the most respected brands in the world.
# If you aren't willing to try everything and make a mistake, then you'll never make anything of yourself.
# I just like to enjoy life and push myself. Of course, there is method to my madness. When you are entering into a new industry, for example, it helps to do something to get your name on the front pages.

Tata pulls out of Singur

Tata pulls the plug on Singur. So UP or Karnataka gets the chance..

Where does Nano, come from now?

The land now goes to whom? Back to farmers, who will ensure that there is Industrialization and the will ensure there is 5000 crore rupees tax income every year based on that plant, ploughed back into economy.

Great job done Politicians.

Adigas, Arakere, Bangalore

Decent place! Just after Apollo and IIMB.

There is a self service hall downstairs, cheap and best! When I moved to Bangalore last year (18 months ago) I used to eat everyday .... there... idly vada, upma... till family came and joined me.

The hall is good.

I take my visitors there.

North Indian Deluxe meal is the best. My kids share a plate, they love the butter naan so much.

At times we get the Gobi Manchurian!

Overall a decent place, if you like vegetarian!

(Parking is there nearby, a small lot and on the roadside)

Indian Cricket Team: Ganguly in against Australia (October/November 2008)

  1. Virender Sehwag
  2. Gautam Gambhir
  3. Rahul Dravid
  4. Sachin Tendulkar
  5. Sourav Ganguly
  6. VVS Laxman
  7. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk)
  8. Anil Kumble (capt)
  9. Harbhajan Singh
  10. Zaheer Khan
  11. Ishant Sharma
  12. Munaf Patel
  13. RP Singh
  14. S Badrinath
  15. Amit Mishra
The above is the 15 member squad announced by BCCI at 3 PM today. Ganguly is in. Welcome Dada again! If he wants to retire, let him leave with a bang!

The playing eleven can be taken as the first elven as shown above.... last 3 are reserves and needed for future.

S Badrinath is a no brainer choice for Srikkanth. Badri has to ensure to live up to expectations.

Suprising ommission, Murali Karthik, who is avalable after his stint with Middlesex T20 victory and in good form. I hope he comes in in the last 2 tests. Nagpur needs him.

The first test starts on October 9th at Bangalore.
The second test starts on October 17th at Mohali (you can see one more paceman in, drpping Laxman/Ganguly)
The third test starts on October 29th at Delhi. (the team to be announced on October 21st. Hopefully Dada makes the cut again!)
The final test starts on Nov 6th at Nagpur. (the batsman paradise and last time, Australia had upper hand, while Murali Kaarthik helped).

So what is the final series score to be? I bet a 2 to 1 lead for India. Excellent!

Koffee with Anu - Saroja Team (September 27th, 2008)

It was a special episode with a character.

Tamil movie Saroja (even though it is a utter copy of Judgement Night
with jokes) is a hit in recent terms. I am told they have grossed
double than investment in 15 days. Not bad!

The whole team (main characters) were there.... SPB Charan is a
useless character. I dont know why he acts?

From Chennai - 600 028 (except Nithin Satya, the shortie) this movie
team, is doing wonders. They have this double or nothing attitude,
always making the movie bilingual (Tamil, Telugu). Audience are
alike.

Jayaram is the villain, and he was at his comedy's best. Hats off to
you Sir! I wish to meet and spend sometime with you, somedays when I visit Chennai

Overall a decent show.

Anu did not see Chennai-28, it is a hit and now she has not seen
Saroja, it is a hit. So Movie producers, make sure that Anu does not
watch your movies, to make it a hit!

Sani dasa and its effects for 19 years

Sani Dasa runs for 19 years in a 120 years cycle. Maha Dasa. (starting from Moon – Vim)

Bhukthi is the total period of a planet in the MahaDasa – here it is 19/ (Dasa Period) for Sani / Shani about 19/120 of the time of Shani in your Bhukthi period. 798 days.

Anthra is the subdivision of the above and once again using the same principle as above, it works to 798 * 19/120 = 126 days, where super things happen in a person life.

So for a given Dasa and Bhuthkti and Anthra, the first period is itself. Lots of changes happen then based on the transit of the planet itself in various houses. Note that Sun and Moon period, always good results only in a given house – 12 you have. Venus gives a total changeover. Hmm.. Kethu and Rahu, are unpredictable. But it follows the pattern what its own predecessor does.

Here is the list with 120 as the period & percent of time ( Dasa/Bhukthi/Anthra ). Sort of the revolution time, around sun (but Parashara thought of keeping Earth Centric – thats why you dont see Earth in the 12!).

1  Sa 19 15.83%
2  Me 17 14.17%
3  Ke 7 5.83%
4  Ve 20 16.67%
5  Su 6 5.00%
6  Mo 10 8.33%
7  Ma 7 5.83%
8  Ra 18 15.00%
9  Ju 16 13.33%

All the software using Swiss based Ephimeris DLL, take the starting point of the DOB and give you the chart for 120 years – assuming the max years a person can live is 120 only!

All I need is a house and Rs 30000 per month income

I was going through the situations... and thought about the basic
needs of a person.

You need to own one house. No fancy.

You need to have regular income of Rs 30000 per month.

Does it take care of everything?

I think so.

What should I do?

Writer and Reader

I was reading an article by a famous Tamil author where he talks about
interacting with an old time famous writer and who was instrumental in
writing in leading magazines and who has also helped this author I am
talking about.

Note the difference here - author versus writer.

Author - is one who writes for his own wish (My liking score 70%)
Writer - is on who writes for his readers wish (My liking score 99%)

Which category are you?

A Reader is one who likes the both...

Monday Morning Blues: A Poem

It's a Monday Morning - I arrive at work whining,

The wasted weekend swiftly me flew by;

How will I pass these crazy five weekdays working?

How will I last till its Thank God It's Friday (TGIF)?

The thought of Mondays spoils my Sundays,

Blues rollick on to me, bringing memories of Escapades!

It is worth the wait for Fridays!

But Friday nights are meant for party time,

Saturdays are sweet with a buddy to choose and slime!

While Sundays are groovy to cook and clean!

Lamenting weary week of wasted time ! Oh Shit!

It is not going to be too Holy!

(Note : This is a Unisex Poem)

Monday Morning blues? Who cares!

This is one of the lousiest article, that I have come across.....

Come Monday and most of us see red. We manage to drag ourselves out of bed and getting to work and back is a task that would make climbing Mt. Everest akin to child's play. We are pretty much like zombies on the first day of the week... no matter that we end up having the same syndrome at least 51 more times every year!

So, is there a better way to beat the blues? Here we have ten things you can do to get Mr. Groucho Marx out of your system on Monday mornings…

(1) For starters, it might help if you discover the job you'd really love to do. The one thing in life that is not forced upon you and something that you could create a career out of. As the old saying goes, "find a job you love and you won't have to work a day in your life."

(2) If Monday's don't beckon you to work, maybe there is every reason for you to consider a job change. Of course, this does not readily guarantee a reversal to the blues once your work gets routine at the new job.

(3) Think of how you can re-engineer your job at the workplace. Most of us dread the Monday mornings because there is hardly any difference between what we did on Fridays to what we will do on Mondays. It's sheer boredom.

(4) Examine the typical week and figure out the pressure points that you undergo over five days. Who or what is causing your blood pressure to shoot up and why do you carry stress over the weekend?

(5) Enroll for some hobby, preferably on Monday evenings. This way you could wake up thinking of the good times that you will spend in the evening and hence forget about the reasons that could mess up your Monday.

(6) For those of you who work five days a week, try taking a complete day off on Saturday, hitting the party circuit on Sunday evenings instead. Of course, the only danger is that you may carry the hangover to work, thus compounding the Monday blues.

(7) If possible, rework your schedule in office on Monday so that you are not starting from where you left off on Saturday. On most occasion, it's boredom that makes you see red on Monday mornings.

(8) Having a good workout on Monday morning is a good way to keep stress levels low throughout the day. Get the blood pumping and make sure that you release all that negative energy even before getting to the breakfast table.

(9) Try and get an extra hour in bed before the blues hit you. Since, waking up late can add to your problems, it may be a swell idea to curl up early on Sunday night.

(10)Have your brightest clothes on before you start off for the week. Of course, you will have to hope that your colleagues also follow suit or you may end up as an anachronism at work on Mondays.

And finally, try and change your attitude towards Mondays. Let it not be a "Thank God It's Friday" and "Oh No! It's Monday" syndrome. Try and take Mondays as just any other day of the week. A friend of mine used to get in on Mondays thinking that he had just two days to Wednesday which is mid-week and then just two more days to the weekend. It's essentially about living one day at a time!

Koffee with Anu - Pandhayam Team (Sept 20th, 2008)

It is always a please to watch Puratchi Iyakkunar S.A. Chandrasekar in action in movies or Interviews.

He always comes with his wife, for sure.

Very nice interview. Anu seems to be interviewing better these days. Well the talk in segment (video) is a bore. What guts Prakash Rai has to scold about the hero guy on TV?

He gave a great explanation on the Vijay Rasigar Mandram Kodi, Politics entry (one more, but 2016?) and the issues with Ajit (man made, human emotions blah blah).

I am not sure whether Vijay will be able to justice to his aspirations! Good Luck!

So how did that hero (not at all flamboyant) Nithin Sathya land in the role. He was good in Chennai 600 028.

This movie made a gross of the production cost in a weeks time. Not bad.

Lord Byron: My Winsome Angel!

When we two parted
in silence and tears
half broken-hearted
to sever for years,
pale grew thy cheek and cold,
colder thy kiss;
truly that hour foretold
sorrow to this.
The dew of the morning
sunk chill on my brow ~
it felt like the warning
of what I feel now.
The vows are all broken,
and light is thy fame;
I hear thy name spoken
and share in its shame
In secret we met~
in silence I grieve
that thy heart could forget,
thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
after long years,
how should I greet thee? ~
With silence and tears.

Yaar Adutha Prabhudeva?

Another lousy program from the stable of Vijay TV....

There was one character yesterday, who flew in from London all the way to make it big in the Cinema world. Dancer/Master Sridhar rejects him saying that this is not a platform to aim that, you just dance. There is no point in it. The extra dancer Prabhudeva those days, thanks to his Father Sundaram's connections...made it to becoming an equal hero with Kamal in Kadhala, Kadhala. Look who is talking?

I felt sad for one participant Gaurav (I am announcing a Rs 1000/- award for him, he can mail me with details to collect it), who was kindled to be a "reject" by his friends... mishap on the stage (I wish to see the Youtube of it) wrong song recorded for his performance, he was dancing and asking for the song to be changed... laughed to the core. I dotn know why he was rejected.

Gautham was doing a good job, and he was rejecting left and right, so the program producer - recused him?

BTW, why is Chaya Singh chosen as a judge. I doubt she knows dance....only dubbankuthu ... manmadha raasa song... (one film wonder)

I hate Airtel Super Singer program

I can see 2 characters, plugging in their wishful participants.... without taking consideration of the total ability. Dubba judges.

That PSG Girl (partiality? No) was good. But they were hell bent on finding fault...

Also giving the coin for a reco candidate and selecting in the last 20 (I know for sure, she is a reco, as I know the producer of that show)....

Well I wish I had the money to help those interesting singers (aspirants) to make it big - once chance. A la Boyz.

That program doesn't need one anchor at all. Lousy!

Zimbabwe and inflation

Do you know the current inflation rate of Zimbabwe?

11.2 million%.... just wondering how our Political Parties would function there... for a few percent hike, they cry up and down...

A loaf of bread is 3.2 trillion (old) Zimbabwe dollars. Now they knocked off, 10 zeros. So it is 350 Z Dollars.

IMF is yet to set foot, till the Political turmoil sets in.

Hoping for the best to them.

Delay in venture!!

As you all know, I have stated the venture indiarealestventure.com recently...

Now there is hiccup with the VC coming with funds. Some slight delay...

I am looking for free space with developers (to be paid later) for to bring in a quick prototype.

Byron’s ‘Darkness’

Byron’s ‘Darkness’

I had a dream, which was not all a dream.
The bright sun was extinguish’d, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space,
Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air;
Morn came, and went and came, and brought no day,
And men forgot their passions in the dread
Of this desolation; and all hearts
Were chill’d into a selfish prayer for light:
And they did live by watchfires - and the thrones,
The palaces of crowned kings, the huts,
The habitations of all things which dwell,
Were burnt for beacons; cities were consumed,
And men were gathered round their blazing homes
To look once more into each other’s face;
Happy were those who dwelt within the eye
Of the volcanos, and their mountain-torch:
A fearful hope was all the world contain’d;
Forest were set on fire but hour by hour
They fell and faded and the crackling trunks
Extinguish’d with a crash and all was black.
The brows of men by the despairing light
Wore an unearthly aspect, as by fits
The flashes fell upon them; some lay down
And hid their eyes and wept; and some did rest
Their chins upon their clenched hands, and smiled;
And others hurried to and fro, and fed
Their funeral piles with fuel, and looked up
With mad disquietude on the dull sky,
The pall of a past world; and then again
With curses cast them down upon the dust,
And gnash’d their teeth and howl’d: the wild birds shriek’d,
And, terrified, did flutter on the ground,
And flap their useless wings; the wildest brutes
Came tame and tremolous; and vipers crawl’d
And twined themselves among the multitude,
Hissing, but stingless, they were slain for food:
And War, which for a moment was no more,
Did glut himself again; a meal was bought
With blood, and each sate sullenly apart
Gorging himself in gloom: no love was left;
All earth was but one thought and that was death,
Immediate and inglorious; and the pang
Of famine fed upon all entrails men
Died, and their bones were tombless as their flesh;
The meagre by the meagre were devoured,
Even dogs assail’d their masters, all save one,
And he was faithful to a corpse, and kept
The birds and beasts and famish’d men at bay,
Till hunger clung them, or the dropping dead
Lured their lank jaws; himself sought out no food,
But with a piteous and perpetual moan
And a quick desolate cry, licking the hand
Which answered not with a caress, he died.
The crowd was famish’d by degrees; but two
Of an enormous city did survive, And they were enemies;
They met beside
The dying embers of an altar-place
Where had been heap’d a mass of holy things
For an unholy usage; they raked up,
And shivering scraped with their cold skeleton hands
The feeble ashes, and their feeble breath

Blew for a little life, and made a flame
Wich was a mockery; then they lifted up
Their eyes as it grew lighter, and
Each other’s aspects. saw, and shriek’d, and died, beheld
Even of their mutual hideousness they died,
Unknowing who he was upon whose brow
Famine had written Fiend. The world was void,
The populous and the powerful was a lump,
Seasonless, herbless, treeless, manless, lifeless,
A lump of death, a chaos of hard clay.
The rivers, lakes, and ocean stood still,
And nothing stirred within their silent depths;
Ships sailorless lay rotting on the sea,
And their masts fell down piecemeal; as they dropp’d
They slept on the abyss without a surge
The waves were dead; the tides were in their grave,
The moon their mistress had expired before;
The winds were withered in the stagnant air,
And the clouds perish’d; Darkness had no need
Of aid from them. She was the universe.

Friends and Help!

Recently I approached a friend in Canada for a possible investment in my new venture, who was referred by another friend (the Canadian friend's sort of Guru and listens to him).....

Obviously they are all Indians.

Now what best the person can do? He has to be sincere first of all....

He can try to get the necessary contacts and pass it on. That helps.

The help should not be a show off item, to show that he is helping someone (senior in experience is another matter)... but the willingness to help out is the key thing. Only on success something in return as reward can be done, isnt it?

See the trap? If not helped he gets hit by his other friend, but there is no conviction to help out. Lethargy, conniving regulations....

If I were in his place, I will for sure, make the best possible attempt to get the help my friends friend need. Let me see what happens next.

Recently an ex colleague and a friend called and spoke to me. He was fired from the organization for showing dissent to the management. I had taken special interest in providing him the job and the needed help in whatever way.... That apart, he was in the wrong job... never interested, showed from the sincerity he showed. Never turned up before 11 AM and left like 7 PM, did not work in private firms. Now he has moved to another job, that seems to fit the bill. Now that he is in a new job, calls and brags about it, just 2 weeks into it, after a 6 months haitus. Good luck to him!

Koffee with Anu - Dhanam and Team (Sept 13th, 2008)

This was a different film, as I have always felt, the theme that affect the society should be told in the media.
Jeeva was the Cameraman, and I understand from reviews, the work is superb.
The whole team, Sangeetha, MS Bhaskar, Rajkumar (director/actor), Director Siva and the producer.... reasonable attempt to plug a controversial topic movie.
MS Bhaskar was wonderful, telling about protecting a girl in the set.....
Anu, is improving. (but I dont like the dressing sense, may be that's how Vijay TV asks to?)

The President, Jaya Nagar, Bangalore

The President, Jaya Nagar, Bangalore is a decent hotel, with a decent spread. It is closer to the shopping complex and Jewellery (I picked up 2 Golden Ear-rings from Bhima's - for wife and daughter, as a surprise). Beware parking is a headache. I parked in front of a house. God knows, what all he cursed me! You can indulge in clothe shopping. I have also seen a shoe showroom, selling Rs 400/- Bata slipper at a premium of Rs 165/-, saying Petrol, rent is high etc.

Today myself and my biz partner went there for the lunch. A place to sit, talk and eat. say many Honeywell badge tickets there. Decent crowd.

Rs 225 plus taxes. About Rs 600/- for 2 with a Soda....

I have been there many time, probably this would the sixth time. I used to take visitors from USA in the previous co. They definitely have Mutton, Sea Food and decent biryani, with a good spread of vegetarian. Salad was not good. Yucky!

Today's desert sucked. Only ice-cream was not spoilt. (Who would eat bread halva, smelly barpi's and rotten mousse?)

My rating 2 *'s out of 5.

Very bad, war time dormitories, bathroom space to fight for (without doors), standing in a long queue.... makes me wonder, what should be done to take care of such ignorant village folks.

Whenever we visited Saravana Stores or Rathna Stores, the attitude of the employees were so bad, and I understand why and how it comes...

May God and the T.N. Government give the best of the things to the owners of such shops(free electricity, approval for more floors), to help the downtrodden.

Nuclear Deal, India and Clean Waiver from 45 countries

Nuclear Deal, is not easy as others think. We in India need Energy and to make it happen, we need Nuclear fuel.

123 waiver from USA? Not easy as it looks, it is English interpretation by Pranab Mukherjee and US Trade Body, that is still doing the rounds. NY Times reports, that Pranabji has mis-understood the entire "No" as "Yes".

India's point of view, is we would get a fair trade (other than Russia and France - with a Socialistic view so far). Note - 45 countries are Nuclear powers. Trouble Makers. - China, Austria and New Zealand. But they are very close allies and Bush did not talk to them, but Sarkozy called them to take care, it seems. Thanks to him!

People didnt notice the fact that Asif Ali Zardari - Co Chairman of Pakistan's People Party - has become the President after Pervez Musharaf. This is definitely was in mind with people, as both India and Pakistan would be responsible nuclear power groups.

India is a growing economic Super Power and we need 75% more energy from the Nuclear Arsenal. We have 42% of people lingering in poverty, living under US $ 1.25 per family (not head, note economists and press) and their economic upliftment depends upon energy. Thanks to Rahul Gandhi, Kapil Sibal and of course P Chidambaram - in talking to his friends and allies - to make this deal a success. We should not forget the role Amar Singh and Karunanidhi played. No one noticed that there was a censure in Rajya Sabha on voice vote - which has no bearing.

Not but no the least, about 50% of senators is USA are against it. Based on Washington Post's report, if the deal does not get passed before Sept 28th, which in a matter of principle - from Saturday, would not catch the bus (just 8 days less). But Bush is urging them in Congress, for a simple majority Hyde Act based approval to trade in Nuclear stuff with India. Might Happen!

If so, then it is a landmark deal for Manmohan Singh and Bush.

Grand Taj, Shivaji Nagar

Grand Taj is a very good Non Veg restaurant. It is on Lady Curzon Road, Shivaji Nagar. Very close to access from M.G.Road, at a walkign distance. After eating you can go to shopping in Commercial Street (A La, the Ranganathan Street of Chennai)

I am used to this from 1980's, when my uncle had taken us there (Late Mr Krishnaraj R.I.P) when he was running Silk Saree biz in Bangalore. They used to live in Osalli Road, Padarayanpura.

Since I settled in Bangalore from 1999, it is a very regular joint.

Their Tandoori Chicken is very good, well done! Ghee Rice is the next best item.

They also serve good Naan and Parotta's. Their Chicken Tikka Masala, is very good. Also the next best item is Chicken Hyderabadi (sweet - typical Mughlai). I always end up hogging one Mutton Biriyani and half Tandoori Chicken easily and finish off with a Masala Chai.

AC room is 10% costly.

The cost has increased to double since 1999. 9% average inflation. (recently they have hiked 20% on all items)
