Trend analysis

Today trend was on dot for positivity!

I expected the 2800+ range for Nifty, with about 4% jump over previous day.

Did close 83 points plus.... overall 183.55 points increase, 6.53%.

OK, when I post Monday morning, let me analyse, on the trend and accuracy!

As expected Metal Stocks were hot, and traded well.

+ Hindalco Indus.60.20+13.2613421925

+ Tata Steel210.10+12.143811675

+ Ispat Industries11.75+4.443961092

Keep an eye on Rupee and if it hovers around Rs 50 per Dollar, you can expect export houses and IT to shine, later.

Hillary Clinton as President of United States

Can Hillary Clinton become President of United States Now?

Watch the above video. It is a joke.

Well there is a remote possibility though!

How?

Each voter can refuse the candidates on ballot, and write their own choice.

Well there it goes!

Chiranjeevi supports Telangana

Chiranjeevi supports Telangana...

Makes sense.

Reasons...

When I worked in Hyderabad, mostly the downtrodden from North of Hyderabad, did nto get good jobs or education. Politicians did a bad job.

Later they realized that the power and self rule as a state helps. More projects and more money and wealth.

Goa is example.

The ideal thing would be United Andhra.

But still....

Make Hyderabad as a Union Territory and capital of Telangana and Andhra.

Working capital would be Karim Nagar. A world class aiport in Warangal area (flat lands) and business. People own business and more government projects. This brings jobs and Naxalism down.

TRS is a part for this cause like JMM so, they get the first seat to rule. Then Vijayashanthi for few years. Later Chiru can get the gaadi.

Understanding the Global Financial Crisis with a story

Once there was a little island country. The land of this country was the tiny island itself. The total money in circulation was 2 dollars as there were only two pieces of 1 dollar coins circulating around.

1) There were 3 citizens living on this island country. A owned the land. B and C each owned 1 dollar.

2) B decided to purchase the land from A for 1 dollar. So, now A and C own 1 dollar each while B owned a piece of land that is worth 1 dollar.

* The net asset of the country now = 3 dollars.

3) Now C thought that since there is only one piece of land in the country, and land is non producible asset, its value must definitely go up. So, he borrowed 1 dollar from A, and together with his own 1 dollar, he bought the land from B for 2 dollars.

*A has a loan to C of 1 dollar, so his net asset is 1 dollar.
* B sold his land and got 2 dollars, so his net asset is 2 dollars.
* C owned the piece of land worth 2 dollars but with his 1 dollar debt to A, his net residual asset is 1 dollar.
* Thus, the net asset of the country = 4 dollars.

4) A saw that the land he once owned has risen in value. He regretted having sold it. Luckily, he has a 1 dollar loan to C. He then borrowed 2 dollars from B and acquired the land back from C for 3 dollars. The payment is by 2 dollars cash (which he borrowed) and cancellation of the 1 dollar loan to C. As a result, A now owned a piece of land that is worth 3 dollars. But since he owed B 2 dollars, his net asset is 1 dollar.

* B loaned 2 dollars to A. So his net asset is 2 dollars.
* C now has the 2 coins. His net asset is also 2 dollars.
* The net asset of the country = 5 dollars. A bubble is building up.

(5) B saw that the value of land kept rising. He also wanted to own the
land. So he bought the land from A for 4 dollars. The payment is by
borrowing 2 dollars from C, and cancellation of his 2 dollars loan to A.

* As a result, A has got his debt cleared and he got the 2 coins. His net
asset is 2 dollars.
* B owned a piece of land that is worth 4 dollars, but since he has a debt
of 2 dollars with C, his net Asset is 2 dollars.
* C loaned 2 dollars to B, so his net asset is 2 dollars.

* The net asset of the country = 6 dollars; even though, the country has only one piece of land and 2 Dollars in circulation.

(6) Everybody has made money and everybody felt happy and prosperous.

(7) One day an evil wind blew, and an evil thought came to C's mind. "Hey, what if the land price stop going up, how could B repay my loan. There is only 2 dollars in circulation, and, I think after all the land that B owns is worth at most only 1 dollar, and no more.."

(8) A also thought the same way.

(9) Nobody wanted to buy land anymore.

* So, in the end, A owns the 2 dollar coins, his net asset is 2 dollars.
* B owed C 2 dollars and the land he owned which he thought worth 4 dollars is now 1 dollar. So his net asset is only 1 dollar.
* C has a loan of 2 dollars to B. But it is a bad debt. Although his net
asset is still 2 dollars, his Heart is palpitating.
* The net asset of the country = 3 dollars again.

(10) So, who has stolen the 3 dollars from the country ? Of course, before the bubble burst B thought his land was worth 4 dollars. Actually, right before the collapse, the net asset of the country was 6 dollars on paper. B's net asset is still 2 dollars, his heart is palpitating.

(11) B had no choice but to declare bankruptcy. C as to relinquish his 2 dollars bad debt to B, but in return he acquired the land which is worth 1 dollar now.

* A owns the 2 coins, his net asset is 2 dollars.
* B is bankrupt, his net asset is 0 dollar.. ( he lost everything )
* C got no choice but end up with a land worth only 1 dollar

* The net asset of the country = 3 dollars.

************ **End of the story; BUT ************ *********

There is however a redistribution of wealth.
A is the winner, B is the loser, C is lucky that he is spared.
A few points worth noting -

(1) When a bubble is building up, the debt of individuals to one another in a country is also building up.
(2) This story of the island is a closed system whereby there is no other country and hence no foreign debt. The worth of the asset can only be calculated using the island's own currency. Hence, there is no net loss.
(3) An over-damped system is assumed when the bubble burst, meaning the land's value did not go down to below 1 dollar.
(4) When the bubble burst, the fellow with cash is the winner. The fellows having the land or extending loan to others are the losers. The asset could shrink or in worst case, they go bankrupt.
(5) If there is another citizen D either holding a dollar or another piece of land but refrains from taking part in the game, he will neither win nor lose. But he will see the value of his money or land go up and down like a see saw.
(6) When the bubble was in the growing phase, everybody made money.
(7) If you are smart and know that you are living in a growing bubble, it is worthwhile to borrow money (like A ) and take part in the game. But you must know when you should change everything back to cash.
(8) As in the case of land, the above phenomenon applies to stocks as well.
(9) The actual worth of land or stocks depend largely on psychology

Tomorrow's trend

Nifty should be hovering around 2700 range, with a high of 2800..

Today close was at 2697, off by 33 points than my prediction, with trend being positive.

Metal stocks are hot.

It depends upon US markets overnight.

I will also try to give some tips on individual stocks.

I use some astrological as well as proper technical analysis.

Cricket: India pile up agony against Australia in 3rd Test at Delhi

Cricket: India pile up agony against Australia in 3rd Test at Delhi..

India finished at 296/3 in 89 overs yesterday evening, with Gambhir on 149 and Laxman on 54.

Gambhir scored his 3rd Test century.

Today morning they began well, solid, with 2 chances one by each Gambhir a slip catch life off White, Hayden being the culprit and Johnson couldn't run down to take the catch of Laxman of Lee.

Laxman scored his 13th Test century, after playing out 2 maiden overs.

India is at 393/3 in 115 overs, with Gambhir on 191 and Laxman on 104.

India should be looking to consolidate the lead, and bat 1 hour after tea too, scoring in the region of 560 to 600 and leave about 20 overs for Aussies to bat today.

Cricket: 3rd Test India and Australia

India makes a good start against Australia, in the 3rd Test match at Delhi! Spin is key. Grass of pitch, leggies have a ball always! Also lefties hit well. The gentle medium pace, hits hard.

Kumble in for Bhajji as expected. Mishra has to work hard on this low bouncy wicket.

Sehwag, out early.

Dravid chased a wild goose! Not in form.

Looks like 450 on the first innings would be the key, when Australia bat last!

Aggression never pays in Delhi pitches.

After 40 overs, it is 108/2. Very slow bowling and yet to see Cameron White is action.

I want to post stock market news

Today I expect Nifty to close at 2730

Abhiruchi, Banashankari

Abhiruchi, Banashankari is a decent Andhra restaurant!

Yesterday for Diwali, we went there, by chance, not by choice.

Kids wanted food on Banana Leaf and Nandini, J.P.Nagar (lucky!) was so crowded that, we drove as per the advice of one person, there. Nandini should have more seats.

Abhiruchi, gives a decent banana leaf meal, nov veg one (full meals, roti & chicken curry) for Rs 65/-. You cannot beat it anywhere in Bangalore!

Kids wanted the usual fried chicken and biriyani. Tasty and sumptuos. Try it.

Car can be parked in front, not much of crowd I suppose.

New Airline Rules

New Airline Rules

Attendant: Welcome aboard Ala Carte Air, sir. May I see your ticket?

Passenger: Sure.

Attendant: You're in seat 12B. That will be $5, please!

Passenger: What for?

Attendant: For telling you where to sit.

Passenger: But I already knew where to sit.

Attendant: Nevertheless, we are now charging a seat locater fee of $5. It's the airline's new policy.

Passenger: That's the craziest thing I ever heard. I won't pay it.

Attendant: Sir, do you want a seat on this flight, or not?

Passenger: Yes, yes. All right, I'll pay. But the airline is going to hear about this.

Attendant: Thank you. My goodness, your carry on bag looks heavy. Would you like me to stow it in the overhead compartment for you?

Passenger: That would be swell, thanks.

Attendant: No problem. Up we go, and done! That will be $10, please.

Passenger: What?

Attendant: The airline now charges a $10 carry on assistance fee.

Passenger: This is extortion. I won't stand for it.

Attendant: Actually, you're right, you can't stand. You need to sit, and fasten your seat belt. We're about to push back from the gate. But, first I need that $10.

Passenger: No way!

Attendant: Sir, if you don't comply, I will be forced to call the air marshal. And you really don't want me to do that.

Passenger: Why not? Is he going to shoot me?

Attendant: No, but there's a $50 air-marshal hailing fee.

Passenger: Oh, all right, here, take the $10. I can't believe this.

Attendant: Thank you for your cooperation, sir. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Passenger: Yes. It's stuffy in here, and my overhead fan doesn't seem to work. Can you fix it?

Attendant: Your overhead fan is not broken, sir. Just insert two quarters into the overhead coin slot for the first five minutes.

Passenger: The airline is charging me for cabin air?

Attendant: Of course not, sir. Stagnant cabin air is provided free of charge. It's the circulating air that costs 50 cents.

Passenger: I don't have any quarters. Can you make change for a dollar?

Attendant: Certainly, sir! Here you go!

Passenger: But you've given me only three quarters for my dollar.

Attendant: Yes, there's a change-making fee of 25 cents.

Passenger: For crying' out loud. All I have left is a lousy quarter? What the heck can I do with this?
Attendant: Hang onto it. You'll need it later for the lavatory.
