Self Confidence - story of Narendra

Self Confidence - story of Narendra

Once upon a time in a small village, there lived a young man named Narendra. He was known for his strong character and unwavering determination. Narendra had always believed in the power of self-confidence and its ability to bring positive change in one's life.

Narendra's village, like many others, faced numerous challenges. The villagers struggled with poverty, lack of infrastructure, and limited access to education. However, Narendra refused to be disheartened by these circumstances. He firmly believed that self-confidence could empower individuals to overcome any obstacle.

One day, Narendra noticed that the village school was in a dilapidated state. The roof leaked, the walls were crumbling, and the children had to study in cramped spaces. Narendra knew that education was the key to a brighter future, and he was determined to make a difference.

With his self-confidence as his guiding light, Narendra decided to take matters into his own hands. He approached the village elders, expressing his concerns and proposing a plan to renovate the school. Initially, some of the elders dismissed his ideas, questioning his abilities and suggesting that he should focus on more "realistic" goals.

But Narendra refused to let their doubts deter him. He understood that self-confidence meant focusing on what was right, rather than who was right. He believed in the power of his vision and the positive impact it could have on the entire community.

Undeterred, Narendra began rallying support from his fellow villagers. He organized community meetings, where he passionately spoke about the importance of education and how a renovated school could transform the lives of the children. Gradually, he started winning people over with his infectious enthusiasm and unwavering belief.

Narendra's self-confidence also allowed him to admit his own mistakes and learn from them. Whenever faced with a setback or a roadblock, he would reevaluate his approach and adapt accordingly. He understood that self-confidence was not about being stubborn, but about having the strength to change one's mind when necessary.

Through relentless efforts and unwavering self-confidence, Narendra managed to secure funds and resources for the school's renovation. The villagers started contributing their time and skills, and together, they transformed the old, dilapidated building into a vibrant and welcoming space for learning.

The renovated school became a symbol of hope and progress in the village. The children, who had once struggled to study in cramped spaces, now had a comfortable and inspiring environment to pursue their dreams. As the village witnessed the positive impact of Narendra's self-confidence in action, more and more people started believing in their own abilities to bring about change.

Narendra's story spread beyond the confines of the village, inspiring others to embrace self-confidence and work towards a better future. He became a role model for young individuals who aspired to make a difference in their communities.

In the end, Narendra's journey showcased the transformative power of self-confidence. It taught people that focusing on what's right and the outcome, rather than ego and who's right, can lead to remarkable achievements. His story served as a reminder that self-confidence is not just a personal attribute but a driving force for positive change in the world.

Azhagu Raja (Tamil) a Fun movie

Based on the internet reviews I was worried to take the family for Azhagu Raja (Tamil) which turned out to be a Fun movie...

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/05/All_in_All_Azhagu_Raja_poster.jpg
The making is good, nice comedy ( crispness missing ) and the shooting locales are beautiful.

A movie should be looked at by the entertainment value it gives, but not what a person wants based on the past, present and future trends. A Directors vision is to dish out goods.... catering to mass. Not everyone is supposed to like, isnt it?

Today the viral marketing phenomenon is catching up fast. Word of mouth marketing catches fire faster. everyone goes around harping nowadays, hyperist world. If someone doesnt like they could have walked out no? Just bcoz someone didnt like a movie, we shouldnt take their word for granted. Hated Arambam! But had to sit in the theatre on Oct 31st being the FDFS. Just bcoz the making is good ( hollywood style copy ) and people like Ajithkumar walks and glamour of heroines! well timepass!

It seems the edited version makes first half reduced by 20 minutes. Dont know what has been cut. :-)

Family enjoyed watching the comedy effort of Santhanam.  :-)  Radhika Apte that old 80s Meenakshi was very homely and wonderful. Might come for a round in Tamil filmdom like Lakshmi Menon.

To get a true value of a movie, better not to look at twitter or facebook for review of a movie. The more people talk theatre fills! My show was housefull! Theatre manager said all shows are running like that.

Saranya Ponvannans talent is wasted. So is Nasser.

Not sure whether they edited a fight out. would have been nice for Karthi film with his style action scenes.

In the end when Karthi imitates his dad with a coconut in hand - I bet the relative folks would have erupted

In Tiruppur all shows have been Housefull itseems - 5 shows everyday in 7 theatres. Might be hit in Telugu Land. Saniyan Sakadai Kota Srinivas Rao is there....

2nd half is more fun with M S Bhaskar and the 80s scenes..

Rock Star Sales Manager

10 Things You Can Do to Become a Rock Star Sales Manager
Sep 16 2013 By Anthony Iannarino in Sales , Small Business

Here’s a list of ten things you can do to become a rock star sales manager. Following this recipe will help you lead your team to their best ever results, and it will help you turn in your best ever performance, too.

1.  Care about your salespeople.

Sales management is a leadership role. You aren’t managing a team as much as you are leading that team (I’ll have more to say about this later). If you want your team to care deeply about succeeding, about making their number, about creating value for your clients, then you start by caring about your salespeople. Show them you care about them individually.

2.  Learn to coach.

The relationship you have with your salespeople should be a good coaching relationship. Since we’ve already established that you are going care deeply about their well being, you will already have the platform of trust that allows you to help your salespeople see their own blind spots. Good coaching is a careful balance of being non-directive and helping the salesperson learn some things on their own and being directive and telling them what you need them to do. Learn to coach the individuals on your team.

3.  Provide continuous training.

You may have thought that you took care of the need for continuous training by hiring salespeople with experience. You didn’t. All salespeople benefit from acquiring new ideas, new skills, and a further grounding in fundamental principles of good selling. Don’t ever stop providing training.

4.  Serve your salespeople before your company.

The main challenge for a sales manager is finding the time to invest in their team. Your organization is going to make serious demands of you. And what your company wants from you is important. They want reports, information, more reports, your attendance at meetings, and even more reports. At the end of the day (or quarter), you are going to be measured by how well your team does. Serve your team first. Invest your time and energy there. Be efficient in providing your company what it needs, but know it won’t make the number go up. Put your team’s needs first.

5.  Be the example.

If you want your sales team to create value for clients, let them see you create value. If you want your team to persevere, let them see you persevere. If you want your team to develop themselves as professionals, let them see you developing yourself. They are going to be what you are. Be the example.

6.  Don’t be the super-closer.

You may have found yourself in a sales management role because you did well in sales. Maybe you even closed some really big deals. You will not succeed in sales management by being the super-closer. You are already spread to thin, and your quota (read: the combined quota of each of your team members) is too large for you to make by trying to close their deals. You may need to help with some “must win” deals, but you aren’t the super-closer.

7.  Create independents.

Your job as a sales manager is to create “independents.” If your sales team has to come to you for every answer, you aren’t going to succeed. Your role as a leader is to create people who can succeed in doing their job well without your help. This doesn’t mean that you won’t help them. Instead, it means you help them gain the competency to make good decisions on their own. The last thing you want or need is dependents. It will make you feel needed, but it will ruin your results. Make them independent.

8.  Focus as much on effectiveness as activity.

It’s easy to believe that more activity will automatically equal better results. That’s because there are so many salespeople for whom this is true. But more poor activity isn’t the right answer. When you look at low activity, recognize that part of the reason it is low is likely that the salesperson isn’t effective and lacks confidence. Focus on fixing the effectiveness problem first. People like doing things they do well. Good sales management is a careful balance of activity and effectiveness.

9.  Provide air cover.

Your sales organization is going to do things that make it tough for your team to succeed. They have good intentions, but don’t always recognize the effects of their decisions. You have to stand up to the organization and protect your team when necessary. But, once a decision is made, you never complain down. You support the decision and you march. Give air cover when necessary.

10.  Remember your lessons.

If you’ve gotten this far, it’s important to remember what you learned from your best sales manager. What did she do that helped you succeed and grow beyond anything you imagined? What made her special? It’s also helpful to recall what you learned from your worst sales manager. What did you tell yourself that you would never do if you were a sales manager? Now is your chance to apply those lessons!

Use these ten ideas as a list of prompts. Review each item and make an action plan around each one of them. Then put them into practice as fast is humanly possible; your team’s success depends upon it.

Samosa Guy

This is a post from Facebook, I think the authors name could be Roopa.

After reading this you will think that you are in the wrong business

The Samosa Vendor : A must read

“Today in India its unbelievable .......

The numbers are a little difficult to swallow,.....

But interesting nevertheless.”
(Mail was Sent By A Friend)

It was my regular train journey home from work. I boarded the 18:50pm train at from Paranur.

When the train was about to leave Guduvanchery, a samosa vendor with an empty basket got on and took the seat next to me. As the compartment was sparsely occupied and my destination was still far
away, I got into a conversation with him.

Me: "Seems like you've sold all your samosas today."

Vendor (smiling): "Yes. By God's grace, full sales today.""

Me: ""I really feel sorry for you people. Don't you get tired doing this tiresome job the whole day?"

Vendor: ""What to do, sir? Only by selling samosas like this every day we get a commission of .75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

Me: "Oh, is that so ? How many samosas do you sell on an average each day?"

Vendor: "On peak days, we sell 3,000 to 3,500 samosas per person. On dull days, we can't even move 1,000 samosas a day. On an average, we sell about 2,000 samosas a day.""

I was speechless..... for a few seconds. The guy says he sells 2,000 samosas a day; at .75 paise each, he makes about 1,500 rupees daily, or 45,000 rupees a month. That's Rs. 45,000 a month. OMG. I intensified my questioning and this time it was not for time pass.

Me: ""Do you make the samosas yourself?""

Vendor: ""No Sir. Our proprietor gets the samosas through a samosa manufacturer and we just sell them. After selling we give him the money and gives us 75 paise for each samosa that we sell.""

I was unable to speak a single word more but the vendor continued... but one thing... most of our earnings are spent on living expenses. Only with the remaining money are we able to take care of other business.

Me: ""Other business? What is that?""

Vendor: ""It is a land business. In 2007 I bought 1.5 acres in Urupakkam for 3 lakh rupees and I sold it a few months back for 15 lakhs. Now I have bought land in Uthiramerur for 5 lakh rupees.""

Me: ""What did you do with the remaining amount?

Vendor: ""Of the remaining amount, I have set aside 6 lakhs for my daughter's wedding. I have deposited the other 4 lakhs in the bank.""

Me: ""How much schooling have you had?""

Vendor: ""I studied up to third standard; I stopped my studies when I was in the 4th standard. But I know how to read and write. Sir, there are many people like yourself, who dress well, wear a tie, wear
shoes, speak English fluently and work in air-conditioned rooms. But I don't think you guys earn as much as we do wearing dirty clothes and selling samosas.""

At this point, what could I reply. After all, I was talking to a millionaire! The train chugged into Chromepet station and the samosa vendor got up from his seat.

Vendor: "Sir, this is my station...have a good day."

Me: "Take care."

What more is there to say!''

First Day First Show Thalaiva

This family movie craze to watch FDFS First Day First Show, doesnt die in Bangalore if its a holiday. Didnt like Thalaiva movie. 2nd half was a pain in the butt. Pathetic. The movie should be trimmed, some more songs/duets needed
We liked Thuppaakki though.
My sons opinion on Thalaiva. Bore. Any movie that doesnt show the hero within few minutes, doesnt click. He understands!!!! But where are the songs, he says!!! Vijay means dance right?
A waste of 300 rs per ticket,  plus popcorn combo meals cost.
Sam Anderson makes a cameo appearance in Thalaiva. Heard he is there in Biriyani in a Kuthu song too. Internet fame never fades. Long Live!

Java Programmers Best Guidelines

1. Code should be READABLE. If not…please don’t code!
2. If you are using a DESIGN PATTERN, check with your lead, whether it is the right one in the given situation.
3. If you don’t COMMENT your code, you have not documented it.
4. If you did not make NULL CHECKS, your code will fail!.
5. If you use STATIC everywhere, you leave yourself open to memory issues.
6. If you do not handle EXCEPTIONS, you should not code, or review it.
7. If your code is not UNIT TEST able, you have not written it right.
8. Do not add Numbers directly as FLAGs or ENUMS, use readable constants instead.
9. EXTERNALIZE all User Visible Strings.  (Keeping it flexible for Multi-lang apps.)
10. Add Parameters that could change, in CONFIGURATION files.
11. Do not use Popup Message Boxes for Testing, use Console PRINT statements instead. You will forget to remove them!
12. Using LOGS in proper places, can enhance code, and avoid 11. in many cases. This is the only thing that will help you in remote communication from the customer end. Also helps in timing the functions and troubleshooting performance issues
13. Expose commonly used Utility Classes in UTILS package. Keep a note on its size, as not all Classes may need the whole package, it is a good practice.
14. Avoid practice of STAR importing (i.e importing whole Package e.g. java.lang.*)
15. When Synchronization is not needed, avoid using Synchronized Classes (e.g Do not use Vector when ArrayList would do the work).

Living on 30 rupees per day per person

Indian government has declared that anyone who spends more than 30 rupees per day per person on food and living are above poverty line. What about other expenses, like housing, utilities, school, dresses, medical expenses, entertainment etc?

That means, for a family of 4 - husband, wife, 2 kids - 30 x 4 x 30 = 3600 would be cost needed for food alone. Makes sense, considering the cost of grocery, vegetables etc.

However we need to consider these monthly costs too

Gas cost @ Rs 430, Electricity @ Rs 500, Medical @ Rs 1000, School @ Rs 1000, Dresses @ Rs 2000, Entertainment @ Rs 3000 which includes, movies, cable/dish tv, eating out once etc. & Transport @ Rs 2000.

So in all we would need about 13,600 rs a month to survive in a normal town (or a city like Bangalore/Chennai)

Inputs: I spoke to the security of my apartment - who makes about 8k for a straight 12 hours/day, 6 days shift. Even on that holiday, he goes around doing commission selling work, buying and selling old furniture.

I have a feeling more than 80% of Indians are poor. Including me.

What else do we need?

Main thing would be saving for the future, emergencies, kids marriage expenses....

But if you are an IT folk, with some experience like me...

So in India particularly in Bangalore, a minimum survival budget for food, house, transport, school, etc turns out to be more than 50K/month that too for 2 kids, one husband, one wife only. Now imagine adding up movies @ 300/seat, icecream, pizza, burgers, fries etc. Both spouses should work for quality life in Bangalore. Bachelors need 20k a month.

has written in Facebook on the nuances of the people who drive!!!!  Super Super Super!!!!!

Please share

_____

• FREE LEFT

My Comment

Super! Same applies to Bangalore too. Here Traffic Police is ornamental.... they just stand and watch and work only when the ministers, or VIP pass.
