அந்த நாளில் இருந்து, கருணா ராமு உடன் பயணிக்க ஆரம்பித்தான். ராமு, கருணாவை தனது வேலையில் நன்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்கிறான். ஆனால், கருணா அதில் மட்டும் நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்படவில்லை; அவன் ராமுவுக்கு நன்றியுணர்வு மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்க ஆரம்பித்தான்.

ஐந்து வருடங்களில் நன்றாக வளர்ந்தான்! வருடந்தோறும் குடும்பத்துடன் விடுமுறைக்கு வெளிநாடு செல்வார். அவனது குழந்தைகள் செல்வந்தர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை விரும்பவில்லை; அவர்களை சாதாரணமாக வளர்க்கவும், வாழ்க்கையின் மதிப்புகளை கற்றுக் கொடுக்கவும் உறுதியாக இருந்தான்.
